HAIR LOSS DUE TO DHT SENSITIVE HAIR FOLLICLES

Hair loss is a very common problem for all of us. If someone has developed hair loss at a early age, it makes them feel and look old. Surprisingly, when an elderly person has nice thick hair, this makes them look younger especially when they colour their hair.

Androgenetic alopecia is the most common cause of hair loss in men and women. This is a inherited type of hair loss, meaning if you notice you parent, uncles or grandparents loosing hair, then it’s quite possibly you’ll going to loose your hair too.

Generally, hair loss starts by age 30 onwards. Obvious signs are increasing number of hair strands on your pillow each morning and more than usual hair tangled up on your comb or brush. Hair loss can be gradual or sudden. Sadly, the occurrence of this genetic condition also can start on young teenagers.

It is believed that Dihydrotestosterone or DHT is the main cause of hair loss. So it is assumed that the higher the amount of DHT, the more hair loss occurs. Well this is not the case, medical practitioners noticed that there are patients with high levels of DHT but don’t show any signs of hair loss, while other patients with low DHT levels suffer from hair loss.

For this reason, doctors concluded that the amount of DHT doesn’t cause hair fall but it is sensitivity of the hair follicles themselves to DHT. When your hair follicles are genetically sensitive to DHT, then hair loss is evitable.

DHT starts to influence the male body in age of puberty. This substance is responsible for activating the secondary traits of men. Deeping of the voice, muscles become more prominent, protrution or growth of the Adam’s apple and of course the growth of androgenic hair, are is all influence by DHT. But sadly, as androgenic or body hair grows, head hair starts to deteriorate.

This hair follicle deterioration progresses slowly, but there are fast cases where obvious signs and symptoms of hair loss occur a few years after puberty.

Since, hair follicles start getting exposed to DHT from puberty and onwards, it is advisable to use a hair loss treatment beginning from puberty as well. The key is to prevent DHT from affecting the hair follicles. Of course, there are a lot of hair loss products in the market but the majority of them are chemical based and can cause mild to serious side effects from an itchy scalp to loss of sexual drive.

To eliminate any kind of unwanted side effects, it is advisable to use a hair loss treatment that contain all natural ingredients. There are a number of natural hair loss products that contain a special extract from the saw palmetto tree. This extract is used to naturally stop the effects of DHT on the scalp. When topically applied to the scalp regurally, DHT never have the opportunity to harm the hair follicles and since this is simply made from plant extracts, this is easily metabolized by the body. The longer it is used the better without causing any side effects.
